Palm leaf; 8 or 9 lines on a folio. Manuscript consists of the Śatadūṣaṇī by Veṃkaṭanātha, in 66 chapters. C. M. Whish describes it as the 'Xata-Dūziṇī; or refutation of the Uttara Mīmāmsā'. According to 'Catalogue catalogorum' by Th. Aufrecht (Leipzig, 1891, Pt. II Leipzig, 1896) p.630 (see 'A catalogue of Sanskrit manuscripts in the library of His Highness the Maharaja of Bikaner' comp. Rajendralala Mitra (Calcutta, 1880) p.519; also 'A contribution towards an index to the bibliography of the Indian philosophical systems' by Fitzedward Hall (Calcutta, 1859) p.112) it is "directed against the Sāṃkhya doctrine". See also 'Reports on Sanskrit MSS> in Southern India' by Eugen Hultzsch, Nos. 1 & 2 (Madras, 1895, 1896) p.145 sql. (No. 1532). Winternitz notes that there is an entry by C. M. Whish dated 'August 1830 Tellicherry', but he thinks the MS. is fairly old, 17th or 18th century CE. The MS. has been damaged by insects on ff.17-32 (f.24 seriously), 34-37 (seriously), 43-45, 79-80, 102-106 (f.103 seriously), 112-115, 150-154 (seriously) and 168-169. Text begins: śrīmān Veṃkaṭanāthāryyaḥ kavitārkkikakesarī | vedāntācāryyavaryyo me sannidhattāṃ sadā hṛdi | samāhāras sāmnām pratipadam ṛcān dhāma yajuṣā[ṃ] layaḥ pratyūhānāṃ laharivitatir bodhajaladheḥ | kathādarppakṣubhyatkalikathakakolāhalabhavaṃ hara tvan tad dhvāntaṃ hayavadanahelāhalahalaḥ | idam prathamasambhavatkumatijālakūlaṃkaṣā mṛṣāmataviṣānalajvalitajīvajīvātavaḥ | kṣaranty amṛtam akṣayam yatipurandarasyoktayaś ciratanasarasvatīcikurabandhasairandhrikāḥ | prācīm upetya padavīṃ yatirājadṛṣṭāṃ yat kiñcid anyad api vā matam āśrayantaḥ | prājñā yathoditam idaṃ śukavat paṭhantaḥ pracchannabauddhavijaye parito yataddhvam | pādāhaveṣu nirbhettum vedamārgavidūṣakān | prayujyatāṃ śaraśreṇī niśitā śatadūṣaṇī | tatra tāvac chāstrārambhe | etc. It ends: na cāsti saṃvāda iti darśitam iti || iti kavitārkkikasiṃhasya sarvatantrasvatantrasya śrīmad-Veṃkaṭanāthasya vedāntācāryyasya kṛtiṣu śatadūṣaṇyām advaitimate sūtrasvārasya bhaṃgaṣ ṣaṭṣaṣṭitamaḥ || hariḥ om śrīmate vedāntagurave namaḥ śrīkavitārkkikasiṃhamahāgurave namaḥ || Then follow 3 pages, containing a fragment of a Vedāntic treatise, beginning: jñānānandaguṇopetam jñānānandamayam mahaḥ | etc. For further quotations from the text indicating the end of chapters, see Winternitz catalogue entry.
